Everyone, to put it simply, wants all the saves on their fantasy team. To the point of even stomaching unideal ERA and WHIP numbers in order to add more saves. It happens.

And while trading for (or adding via waivers) closers locked into ninth-inning roles with save opportunities aplenty certainly can help boost a fantasy team’s saves weekly saves production, it’s finding the under-the-radar relievers who might step into closing roles later that’s a much more sustainable way of going about things. Certianly one with less risk that keeps your trade and FAAB options open for later.

With that in mind, we’re looking at three setup relievers who could be elite fantasy options if they ever step into the ninth-inning role in a full-time capacity. Even if that full-time capacity is just for a few weeks or months.

Those save tallies can make all the difference after all.

And, spoilers, one of the relievers has top-three (or better) fantasy closer upside if he were ever able to close for an extended stretch.
